On Saturday 31st January, I&M Bank staff, alongside the CEO and Managing Director Mr. Zahid Mustafa came together in Tundwi Songani - Kigamboni to plant 20,000 mangrove seedlings, reinforcing our commitment to climate action and community resilience.

Mangroves are critical to protecting coastlines, supporting marine life, and storing carbon, making their restoration both an environmental and community investment.
This initiative reflects how I&M links financial inclusion with environmental responsibility, with one mangrove tree planted for every 100 women financed, connecting inclusive finance with climate action.
The activity was delivered in collaboration with our Friends of I&M, including A
frican Transformative Initiative (ATI) and Sustainable World Initiative (SWI), with valued support from the Tundwi Songani community, local government authorities, and Tanzania Forest Services.
